About RMHC

WHY SPIN FOR SICK KIDS?

By fundraising, you're helping over 3,500 families with sick or injured children, who rely on Ronald McDonald House Charities programs in Greater Western Sydney each year.

A child’s illness can devastate a family financially, psychologically and emotionally. So, it’s our ongoing mission to deliver essential services and holistic support proven to benefit overall wellbeing.

As well as our critical home-away-from-home in Westmead, we offer a Day Pass Program for patient families of The Children’s Hospital Westmead, Hospitality Carts in the NICU at Nepean Hospital and Children’s Ward at Campbelltown Hospital, the Ronald McDonald Learning Program and more.

MEET EVA

When Eva was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, her family’s world changed overnight. They had to leave their home and community to get her the urgent treatment she needed in a hospital far from where they lived. It was an incredibly stressful and uncertain time for everyone.

Thankfully, Eva and her family were able to stay at Ronald McDonald House, close to the hospital. The House became their safe place where they could rest, cook meals, and spend precious time together between hospital visits. They didn’t have to worry about where to stay or how to keep the family together during such a difficult period.

With the support of Ronald McDonald House Charities, Eva's family could focus entirely on what mattered most: being there for their little girl. Their journey is ongoing, but having a place to call home has made all the difference.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES PROGRAMS

Accommodation
Our 60-room House runs 365 days a year and comes with a range of services and support, but this is just one of our programs. Ongoing financial support from the community is vital to keep our services strong for the 1,000+ families that stay with us every year.

Nutritious Meals
Group volunteering programs such as Meals from the Heart, Baking a Difference, and Rise & Dine help ensure we can provide at least one nutritious meal to families daily. With over 33,000 meals and snacks provided last year, this helps reduce the financial and mental burden on our families.

Hospitality Carts
Our Hospitality Carts at Nepean and Campbelltown Hospital provide bedside comfort to families of children on the NICU and Children’s Ward. The carts are operated by our friendly volunteers to benefit families. Our third Hospitality Cart will soon launch at The Children’s Hospital Westmead.
