I'm riding to support sick and injured kids
My eldest needed a liver transplant at nine months old. We've spent the past 7 years in and out of hospital (43 admissions to date, with 37 of them between 2019-2022). During that time, RMHC's services inside the hospital kept us going. The activity cart with toys and games that made a ward feel less like a ward. The sibling section where my younger one could pick something just for him. The volunteers who were sometimes the only conversation I had outside of doctors and nurses.
When you're living in a hospital with your child, those moments are the difference between holding it together and falling apart.
We know what those families are going through because we've been one of them. And there are families in it right now who need a home near the hospital, meals they don't have to think about, sibling care, emotional support, and the kind of quiet kindness that nobody sees but changes everything.
That's what RMHC provides, and that's why we're doing this.
