When a child is seriously ill or injured, the whole family is affected. Parents often need to leave their homes, work and support networks so their child can receive life-saving treatment far from home. It’s a time of stress, uncertainty and enormous emotional and financial pressure.

During a previous work experience in the disability sector under the NDIS framework, I worked closely with families experiencing this struggle and realised how grateful I am for every normal day without sickness or pain which encouraged me to support this cause. Support me to provide a home-away-from-home near the hospital, daily meals, emotional care and more. From the moment of diagnosis and for as long as it takes, your generosity helps keep families together when they need it most.

That’s why I’m taking part in The Big Spin for Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney with my colleagues at Smith and Nephew.
